Application
Car-Rep primer is a combination of professional-grade OE-quality auto refinish priming paste, acrylic binders, and pastes. They are designed to level smoothly, cover efficiently, and dry quickly. Car-Rep primers offer superior adhesion. No sanding is required after priming. The primed area is ready for painting immediately after priming. However, it is recommended to wait 15 minutes after priming for the best finish. Due to their acrylic base, Car-Rep primers are compatible with most overcoats, including synthetic and nitro-based primers.
Can be applied to metal, wood, aluminum, glass, stone, and many plastics.
Can even be primed over galvanized surfaces or old paint after cleaning with Car-Rep Grease Off. Overcoat can be applied directly to the primed surface or after wet sanding with 400-grit sandpaper.
Preparation
The surface to be sprayed must be clean, dry, and free of grease. Protect adjacent surfaces that are not to be sprayed by covering them.
Test the paint compatibility first.
Note:
Shake the spray can for at least 2 minutes, even after the mixing granules have loosened from the bottom of the bottle, and occasionally while spraying.
Hold the bottle upright while spraying, approximately 30 cm from the treated surface.
For optimal results: Apply 2-3 thin coats to the surface.
Allow 3-5 minutes, but no more than 30 minutes, to dry between coats.
To clean the nozzle, turn the bottle upside down and spray until gas escapes.
Wearing protective clothing and safety glasses is recommended while spraying.
Touch-dry 30 minutes, dry 24 hours. Sandable 45-60 minutes.
